Portraits & Father's Day

I took the kids to have their portraits done on Friday. Here are some of my favorites.

Okay, I know I'm his mom, and so I'm biased, but Reid is the cutest baby!!!!!

Sweet Sydney

Handsome Ethan

We had a very special Father's Day weekend. We spent Saturday at Hanging Rock State Park where we took a hike to a beautiful waterfall, ate a picnic lunch, and swam in the lake. The kids loved the water! Sydney, especially, has so much more confidence this year than she did last year. On Sunday, we went to church, had brunch, and ribs for dinner. The ribs were a big deal, since we only get enough for one meal with our 1/4 cow order that we do every 6 months!

I interviewed Sydney & Ethan about Jeff and gave him a copy of the interview for Father's Day. Here is an excerpt:

What does Daddy do?
Sydney: He works, he’s off today, and sometimes he comes home before our naps.
Ethan: He rides on the John Deere with me and plants the garden. He works in an office. He probably plants a garden in his office.

What can you tell me about Daddy?
Sydney: He likes us and he hugs and kisses us at bedtime. He’s fun to play with.
Ethan: I can’t talk right now. I’m coloring. I won’t speak.

What would you like to tell Daddy on Father’s Day?
Sydney: That I love him very, very, very, very much
Ethan: We’re going to eat waffles.

What would be a good gift for Daddy on Father’s Day?
Sydney: Give him his own truck set and his first motorcycle.
Ethan: Well, Santa has to give him a present. Not me.

The Gray People

*Sydney & Ethan were watching a movie and the scene went to black & white. Ethan turned off the tv, and I asked why. Sydney said, "Oh, Ethan thought it was over because the gray people came on."

*The other day, Sydney referred to the back of her knee as her "leg pit!"

*We went fishing at Lake Thom-A-Lex over Memorial Day weekend. The kids both caught a few fish. One time, though, Ethan reeled in his line thinking he had caught a fish, but he hadn't and his bait was still on. He looked at his line and said, "Oh! I caught a worm!"

*At dinner, we wait to eat till everyone has sat down, has been served, and we thank God for our food. The other night, Ethan was especially hungry and didn't want to wait. We asked him to wait till we prayed, and he said, "Well, I'm durvin murvin (starvin' marvin), so I guess I better eat."

I'll Just Skin Him

Today, Sydney was playing with Reid. I said to her, "Would you like to hold him? Babies like skin to skin contact." Sydney replied, "No, you can hold him, and I'll just skin him." Then she rubbed his arm.
